Strength and Balance

Strength and Balance classes are held during school terms at –

  • Kaleen Community Hall, 28 Georgina Crescent, Kaleen – Mondays 10.30am to 11.30am
  • Weston Neighbourhood Hall, 6 Gritten Street, Weston Creek – Tuesdays 10.30am to 11.30am
  • Bruce Office – 170 Hayden drive, Bruce, Wednesdays 11.00 am to 12.00 noon
  • Lake Tuggeranong Sea Scouts Hall, Mortimer Lewis Drive, Greenway – Thursdays 10.00am to 11.00am

Strength and Balance is an entry level exercise program designed to improve balance, flexibility, strength and confidence in completing everyday tasks.

The program is run over 9 or 10 sessions during school terms with the first and last sessions consisting of a small series of assessments, in addition to the completion of strength based exercises. The remaining sessions focus entirely on the designed strength program.

Sessions are overseen by a qualified exercise physiologist however, it must be understood that the exercise physiologist cannot provide individual medical advice. Participants are advised to seek advice from their health care professional regarding suitability of the program before joining.
